Your feminine super-power
As women, we have this amazing, yet under-utilized super-power: Intuition.
It’s easy to see why we don’t use intuition to our maximum advantage; it has not been revered in our society. I’ve mentioned intuition in certain circles and experienced mild ridicule and scoffing. It’s not something held with high regard.
But intuition is so valuable! It's our personal access to the Unlimited and our private connection to the All-Knowing and All-Loving. It’s our heart-line to the Divine. So yeah, super-power.
So how do we tap into this super-power more fully? We pay attention to what we want. We pay attention to our desires. We pay attention to what our hearts are asking for.
Now these desires may not show up as something stupendous or earth-shattering. On the contrary, my experience is that intuitive desires often show up as a little nudge. A small spark or idea that we may notice, but we’re more likely to disregard or talk ourselves out of.
Personal example: Last weekend, Matt and I were heading out the door to do Saturday morning errands together, and I wanted a good coffee. My new go-to is the Caf Bar in Wakefield and I felt the urge to go there. Immediately my brain kicked in and determined that with all the errands on our list, driving out to Wakefield was “too far”. I also know that Matt isn’t a cafe-kind-of-guy so thought it wasn’t fair to drag him along to sit and watch me drink a coffee. I had almost talked myself out of it completely when I stopped and asked Matt if he minded going to Wakefield. He said no problem.
When we arrived, I ordered my mocha latte and a generous piece of blueberry coffee cake for us to share.
And there at the bar was a friend of mine who lives in Vermont. We met 18 years ago at coach training and later retreated together in Prague to learn Buddhist meditation. I hadn’t seen her in a number of years. And here she was in Wakefield, sitting alone, drinking a coffee at the Caf Bar.
I tapped her on the shoulder; we squealed, we hugged and we immediately started catching up. Matt made himself comfortable nearby and dug into the coffee cake.
Paying attention to my intuition paid off wonderfully. Listening to my heart, even when it didn’t make logistical sense, led me to a sweet reunion with my dear friend.
Yup. Intuition. It really is your super-power.
